New History of Magic Exhibit at the British Library

On display now through February 2018, you can find an exclusive exhibition that showcases rare books, manuscripts and magical objects that capture the magic from the Harry Potter series. The exhibit will also feature items from J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury’s personal collections. Among these items you will find the original pitch for the first Harry Potter book. There is good news for those who won’t be able to plan a quick trip to England in the coming weeks: there are several books that capture the magic of the exhibition available for purchase. Bloomsbury has already published the official companion for the exhibition called Harry Potter: A History of Magic. The esteemed publisher will publish another book in collaboration with the British Library curators to bring the experience to everyone. Finally, Pottermore will publish a special edition eBook that will showcase additional visuals of artifacts found at this exhibition.

It sounds like we’re in store for a lot of reading in the coming weeks. Do you have your bookmarks ready?

The Secret to Harry Potter Drinks at Starbucks

Starbucks’ secret menu is known to home many tasty treats. That menu now includes two Harry Potter beverages: the Butterbeer Latte and the Butterbeer Frappuccino. That being said, your work isn’t done just because you know what you want. You need to know how to order it. To enjoy a Butterbeer Latte, ask for a latte with whole milk and caramel, toffee nut and cinnamon dolce syrups. To feel extra fancy, you can ask for whipped cream and salted caramel pieces. For a Butterbeer Frappuccino, ask for a crème Frappuccino with caramel and toffee nut syrups and caramel drizzle over the top.

Don’t forget to bring your Harry Potter thermos with you to Starbucks. Not only will it get you a $.10 discount, but it’s wicked cool.

Construction Begins on New Harry Potter Coaster

Earlier in the week, a Theme Park Insider shared an update on the new coaster coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade on Reddit. The new family friendly coaster experience is set to replace the Dragon Challenge Bolliger & Mabillard dueling inverted coasters. The Insider also wrote that the coaster “seems like it is going to be a suspended/inverted coaster, as the support-to-track connectors are ‘underneath’ the support structure.” The new coaster will open sometime next year at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure.

If you’re planning a trip to Orlando, you can’t forget your wand.
